  QE - one of my little cousins said that her mother told her she could come over when she "gets tired". Interesting isn't it? The only thing for those kids to tire of is the routine.

  YB and Listener - Yes, the cognitive dissonance is getting to her. And before leaving she mentioned that she wanted to watch one of the WT videos. But I doubt she will get around to it. That part of my family is very guarded against anything that criticizes WT. But I'm able to keep the conversation on non-cult topics so far. We have lots of history, obviously.

  OM - This is definitely a first for this part of the fam. They have been very vocal and opinionated about our exit. But have yet to ask or say anything directly to us about leaving.

  Yeah it is QE. And to top it off, she and the kids came over to visit a couple of days later. She actually let her son ride his bike over later that day. All of this is interesting because since we've been out, she's been the most vocal about our exit. Spreading around to the other witnesses that we're not in the truth anymore. And she has only visited me twice since we left.

  Wow, I can't believe that's an actual pic.

  There is no way they can't know their own retention rate. What hypocrites to point out the rates in other religions. But of course, they are counting on the average witnesses to be unaware of the stats.

  We had our block party this past Saturday. We begin the block party with the neighborhood kids and their party horns and harmonicas parading around making lots of noise to announce the party.

  My cousin (who lives in the area) is driving past my road and pulls over. We go over, say hello and I let her know about the block party. She has been out in field service with her family and goes on to tell me of all the spiritual activities they have planned for the fall. All of her children are homeschooled and pioneering.

  I ask her if she would send the kids down later to play with us. She actually said, "Well maybe I will send them over, but they have rehearsal for the special assembly day program." Now I'm actually surprised she didn't give me the old "they can't play with worldly kids routine", and I'm thinking there is no way she is going to get her elder husband to agree to let them come to the party. I really thought she was placating me so she could get away as soon as possible.

  But guess what! About 45 min. later my little cousins come running down the road to join us! And towards the end of the evening my cousin bakes cookies and comes and joins us with her sister (my other cousin) and kids. Can you guys believe that?

  How are things going since my exit?

  today i got accepted to a christian university and we had an earthquake!!!

  the college is located here in va and is the largest christian university in the us.

  my husband is worried about the money but the fact that it's liberty u upsets him more.. otherwise things are good between us things are tense on meeting days.

  3 weeks is a good little break from the WT routine. Even if he slips back into the routine again, he'll remember how stress-free his life was during the time off. Every little break helps!

  And let's not forget the infighting that shortly ensues as the local brothers and sisters compete for the privilege of feeding their savior. They are commended for their humble service as they scrounge around trying to prepare a meal for the delicate COs wife who has food allergies. Of course, the burly CO doesn't have restrictions on his diet, so they have to lay out a spread worthy of a king...

  Yes, Jehovah certainly does provide.

  Another case of JW shunning - these people have no respect!

  as a quick background, only my mother and my mil are jw's.

  my wife and i are inactive, but not df'd or da'd.

  my mil (who has been great to us and treats us normally) has recently told me that "jws don't shun".

  The problem is that JWs do not respect boundaries and there is a time and place for their stupid shunning routine.

  So true LHG. And they think their approval and treatment of others puts the period at the end of the sentence.

  Many JWs are very arrogant.

  My parents had major issues with anger as we were growing up. And one of my sibs picked up the lesson a little too well. Not an easy thing to deal with.
